Course Overview
Networks form the platform for communication between devices located both in isolated systems and around the globe. You will learn about the models and protocols used in setting up a secure modern network, and how to configure and troubleshoot networking devices. You will develop skills in network design and use them to assist in the implementation of your own networks.
What you will learn
- Â Foundational networking concepts that will enable you to understand
network functionality and internetwork communication. - Â Purpose, structure, functionalities and protocols of the well-known models,
Open System Interconnection (OSI) and TCP/IP. - Â Structure of an IPv4, IPv6 address, different IPv4 classes and how to optimize the
address allocation using IP subnetting methods like FLSM and VLSM. - Â How the internetwork communication happens and when to employ IP routing concepts.
- Â Ethernet LAN fundamentals, how the standards come together when designing a
network and factors to consider when designing a small network. - Â LAN switching concepts and how to secure switch ports in a functional network.
- Â How to configure, verify and troubleshoot network devices
